Profile

สวัสดีครับ

I graduated from Thammasat University with a bachelor's degree in English and French. While studying at the university, I was awarded a one-year scholarship from the French government to be an exchange student at the Center for Applied Linguistics at Franche-Comte University in Besancon, France, where I earned a diploma in French Studies. Following my time in France, I went into the field of international banking at Krung Thai Bank Pcl in Chiang Mai, Thailand. At the age of 32, I decided to quit banking to continue my studies and attended the University of Auckland in New Zealand. While studying for my master's, I analyzed the process whereby a European-descended New Zealander had learned the endangered Maori language spoken by the country's indigenous people of the same name.

I received my master's degree in 2004 in applied language studies and linguistics. I have been working as a contract lecturer in English at Maejo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and works for a range of translation companies and private clients at home and abroad. In addition to my Thai mother tongue, I speak English fluently and French at an advanced level.

Where I live

Chiang Mai City, Thailand's northern capital, is an escape from the whirlwind pace of life of its southern rival. Despite the constant arrival of planes and trains full of sightseers, the former seat of the Lanna kingdom is still blissfully calm and laid-back. This is a place to relax after the chaos of Bangkok and recharge your batteries with fabulous food and leisurely wandering. If you don't want to participate in the vast array of activities on offer, just stroll around the backstreets, and discover a city that is still firmly Thai in its aspect, atmosphere, and attitude.
