I was born in Colombia, South America, I moved to the United States with her parents in 1988. I grew up at Shawnee on Delaware and East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

I received my bachelor’s in International Business from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA with continuing education in Translation and Interpreting from Pittsburgh University and UMASS, Amherst. I am also a Nationally Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI-Spanish). I am a committed member of the IMIA and ATA, NETA, TAHIT, NCIHC.

I brings cultural experience through my past work in Export and Import Sales managing multimillion dollar accounts worldwide with Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. I also has worked on cultural issues and concerns with the World Trade Center, Pittsburgh. While living in Pittsburgh I worked on implementing and creating export and import business plans for local Pittsburgh businesses as well as working as a Project Manager Intern for a translation company. These experiences encouraged me to continue with my language work and start my own translating and interpreting business, Berkshire Language Management, Inc.; as well as working with Berkshire AHEC as the Director of Medical Interpreting Programs (MIT)

As the Director of the Medical Program (MIT) at Berkshire AHEC, Pittsfield MA. My work has included designing specialized Medical Interpreter curricula in the areas of Health Systems, and Language Coaching. Help implement the Mental Health curricula. I have also served as Berkshire AHEC’s Lead Instructor for the Medical Interpreter’s Training program and has also collaborated in the development and implementation of the UMASS Medical School’s MassAHEC Network Medical Interpreter Training Program materials and curriculum. In addition to my work in the field of medical interpretation, I have collaborated with local Hospitals and private practices as a Culture Consultant and Instructor. I utilizes my community engagement and international business education to support diverse organizations and communities to achieve systemic change toward the elimination of health disparities.
