Hello!

I am a English-Russian translator residing in Moscow, Russia.

I can send the extracts from the different translated projects upon request. I have translated a lot of manuals of woodworking machines and other types of machines for the last 8-9 years – more than 130.

3. Large translation projects

In 1997 I participated (there were 2 translators 2 art editor besides me in this project) in the large translation project Daniel Yergin "The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power". I have sold the translation right for my part of the book (ch. 20-27) in 2011 in paper format to the Alpina publisher in Russia for 5 years. There were 2 editions of the book in 1999 и 2001 which were published by Dovgan’ publishing house. My translated chapters are 20-27 (about 330 pages).

In 1996 I translated the book of Geoffrey Whitehead, Book-Keeping Made Simple 5E on private order.
This text on book-keeping is suitable for students taking introductory exams in accounting, including GCSE, BTEC national, RSA, LCCI and other courses corresponding to NVQ level 2. The number of pages is about 500. I have solved all tasks in the book with the corresponding format as it is accepted in the book-keeping practice.

Manuals on running and servicing of game machine. About 600 pages. 2003.

The book on economics for students. About 300 pages. 1997.

4.Specialization (for writing translation): enginery equipment manuals, business plan, contracts, information technology (software and hardware), telecommunication equipment

5. I also have some experience in deciphering and translating audio and video records. In 1995 I deciphered and translated film Tootsie for the first CD disk (in Russia) English Gold. I have deciphered and translated 1 VHS cassette FLOWER OF LIFE by Drunvalo Melchizedek. About 50 pages. 2001.

My hobbies are reading, travelling (greek island Corfu) and making gigapixel panoramic photos for the last 4 years.

If you want to know something else, just ask.

Sincerely,

Valentin

Where I live

I live in Moscow, Russia almost all my life and may be called as moskvich.

Moscow is the capital and the largest city of Russia with 12.2 million residents within the city limits and 16.8 million within the urban area.

Moscow is the largest city entirely on the European continent. By broader definitions Moscow is among the world's largest cities, being the 14th largest metro area, the 17th largest agglomeration, the 16th largest urban area, and the 10th largest by population within city limits worldwide.

Moscow is the northernmost and coldest megacity and metropolis on Earth. It is home to the Ostankino Tower, the tallest free standing structure in Europe; the Federation Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Europe; and the Moscow International Business Center.

Moscow is situated on the Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, making it the world's most populated inland city. The city is well known for its architecture, particularly its historic buildings such as Saint Basil's Cathedral with its brightly colored domes. With over 40 percent of its territory covered by greenery, it is one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world, having the largest forest in an urban area within its borders—more than any other major city—even before its expansion in 2012.

The city has served as the capital of a progression of states, from the medieval Grand Duchy of Moscow and the subsequent Tsardom of Russia to the Soviet Union. Moscow is considered the center of Russian culture, having served as the home of Russian artists, scientists and sports figures and because of the presence of museums, academic and political institutions and theaters.

Moscow is the seat of power of the Government of Russia, being the site of the Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is today the residence of the Russian president. The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are also one of several World Heritage Sites in the city. Both chambers of the Russian parliament (the State Duma and the Federation Council) also sit in the city.

Moscow has acquired a number of epithets, most referring to its size and preeminent status within the nation: The Third Rome, The Whitestone One, The First Throne, The Forty Forties, and The Hero City. In old Russian the word (forty) also meant a church administrative district, which consisted of about forty churches. The demonym for a Moscow resident is (moskvich), rendered in English as Muscovite.
