Profile

Hujambo, I'm Simon

I've been living in Nairobi for ten years now.I have enjoyed every moment in this 'city in the sun'. My native language is Swahili, but i am also very fluent in English.

I´m passionate about cultures and languages, and only happy when my customers are happy. Did you know that the Swahili language has Arabic roots? It emerged as a result of the interaction between Arabic and the Bantu languages of the East African coast. The language is categorized as a Bantu language. It's recognized as a national language in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. It is also widely spoken in Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique and in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

I love to share my knowledge, appreciation and love for the Swahili language, and will always do everything I can to provide you with the best possible translation. I only accept Translation Orders that I can deliver within the required timeline. I always endeavour to exceed my clients expectations. So, you can expect nothing but high quality work from me.

I look forward to assisting you with your next Translation, provided always with local language flavor and flare.

Where I live

Nairobi is Kenya's capital, besides being the country's commercial capital. It is also the largest city in East and central Africa. It has the enviable reputation of being the only city in the world with a game park within its boundaries. Nairobi's history is incomplete without the mention of the construction of the Uganda railway in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. The name "Nairobi" is a Maasai word that means 'A place of cool waters'. History has it that Nairobi started as refreshing center where railway workers received their supplies. After completion of railway construction, most of the workers, mostly Asians and Indians, settled permanently in Nairobi and started doing business.

Today, Nairobi is a sprawling modern metropolis with various attractions like the national museum, the railway museum, the Nairobi National Park, Kenyatta Avenue, Jamhuri park and Uhuru gardens, among others. Railway, the second-oldest metro line in the world. Nairobi houses the United Nations Environmental Program headquarters, among other international bodies.

Nairobi also has a vibrant nightlife, with pubs, large outdoor clubs and smaller gardens emerging as the most popular joints. Come and visit Nairobi today. I’m here to help you with translation and interpretation, besides guiding you on your tour.
