Where I live

Mumbai, India’s financial capital, is the largest city in India, and one of the most famous cities in Asia. Mumbai, formerly called Bombay, is a sprawling, densely populated city on India’s west coast. The city is also famous as the heart of the Hindi-language Bollywood film industry.

The name Mumbai is derived from Mumbā or Mahā-Ambā—the name of the patron goddess Mumbadevi of the native Agri, Koli and Somvanshi Kshatriya communities and ā'ī meaning "mother" in the Marathi language, which is the mother tongue of the kolis and the official language of Maharashtra.
