Hello, I'm Irena.

I have been living in Ruse since 1986. My mother language is Bulgarian and I am fluent in English. I have been working as a teacher in English for 7 years.

Currently I work in a multinational company. As I part time job I work as a guide to English speaking tourists coming to visit Ruse and Bulgaria.

I'd love to share my knowledge and experience with you.

Where I live

One of Bulgaria's most elegant cities, Ruse, has more than a touch of Mitteleurope grandness not seen elsewhere in the country. It's a city of imposing belle epoque architecture and neatly trimmed leafy squares, as if a little chunk of Vienna had broken off and floated down the Danube. Its past is abundantly displayed in several museums and its ruined Roman fortress, standing guard high over the Danube.

Ruse is the 4th largest town of Bulgaria - an important cultural, commercial and industrial centre. The city is a host of multiple cultural events such as the Ruse Carnival, the March Music Days, the Autumn Days of Arts and Science, etc.

Ruse is also a base for visiting the nearby Rock Monasteries and other attractions in Rusenski Lom Natural Park.
