My name is Abenet and I live in the USA.

By birth, I am Ethiopian and by choice I am Eritrean. In both countries, Ethiopia and Eritrea, I worked as a journalist and produced radio and TV programs in both languages, Amharic and Tigrigna. English and journalism were my majors in the University (for which I got a BA degree). As a result, I am very fluent in the three languages, Amharic, Tigrigna and English.

Where I live

I live in Falls Church, Virginia which is an independent city in the US state of Virginia.It has a population of about 13,000.It is governed by a seven-member city council.
In 2011, Falls Church was named the richest county in the United States with median annual household income of $113,31. It has two Elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Memorial Day Parade with bands, military units, civic associations is held every year since the 1950s and have become lately a street festival with food, crafts, and booths and a 3k fun run. The Falls Church Farmer's Market is held every Saturday the whole year round. To promote the history, culture and beautification of the city, Falls Church Village Preservation and Improvement Society was reestablished in 1965.
