Profile

Hello,

My name is Felisa. If I had to define myself in one sentence I would say that I am passionate about words and knowledge, because I love learning new things; and this is something that fascinates me about translations.

I was fortunate to have a multicultural education and training. I am Mexican, with German father and Mexican-Spanish mother, since I was a kid we used to spend the summer holidays in Europe visiting my grandparents. These trips included different destinations every time, which led me to become very interested in different cultures and languages.

Due to my professional studies and during my career, working for international companies, for more than 25 years, which I enjoyed very much, because there was always something new to learn; I also traveled widely. I have always believed that there is no better way to understand the culture of a country, than to speak their language, thus we can understand its inhabitants. At that time, I learned a bit of Portuguese, Italian, French and even Greek.

However, I offer my professional translation services only in Spanish, English and German, as these are the languages that I studied formally. In my personal opinion, professional translators should always translate into their native language or into a language, they command as their own. In this way, you have full control of idiomatic expressions and you can easily make sense of any document, conveying the right message, in the right way to the target audience.

In my office at home, surrounded by the tranquility of the golf court and the countryside’s nature, I have a peaceful place where I can concentrate in doing my job, which I love, because it allows me to contribute, in this global world, to express in my mother tongue, something that is written in another language; i.e., re-encode the meaning of the message in Spanish.

In 2015, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world. It is spoken by 358 million people in more than 20 countries. Next time you need a translation into Spanish, please do not hesitate in contacting me. I will always provide you with the best possible translation. I only accept Translation Orders that I can deliver within the timeframe you require and the quality you expect.

Hoping that this is the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration, I remain, with best regards,

Felisa

Where I live

Mexico is full of magic, color and warmth.

Most of my life I lived in Mexico City, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. Mexico City is loaded with a mix of tradition and modernity, it attracts tourists from all over the world because it offers an inexhaustible and deep wealth to satisfy all tastes. A kaleidoscope of eras and mementos, of new experiences and splendors from past centuries.

Seven years ago, my husband and I move from the chaotic City of Mexico to the state of Querétaro, which is one of the most important centers in the Mexican Republic. Considered one of the best places to live in Latin America because of its calmness and pleasant weather, Querétaro is the focus of many activities. It is a commercial center which has become a satellite of sorts for the capital. Several large manufacturing plants have relocated on the city’s outskirts and thousands of business men commute between the two cities. The Historic Monuments Zone of Queretaro was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.

We live in a small and beautiful town called Tequisquiapan. It is synonymous of serenity and delights. Tequisquiapan is one of Mexico’s Pueblos Mágicos (“Magical Towns” is a classification given by the Secretary of Tourism to town of cultural interest). This Magic Town’s name, which in the Náhuatl Language means “place of water and tequesquites”, refers to the traditional hot springs in Querétaro. Tequisquiapan is full of surprises, it is only two hours from Mexico City. We are in the semi-desert zone of the state surrounded by vineyards in the famous route of cheese and wine and at the beginning of the Sierra Gorda’s Franciscan Jewels, where the missions were born during the last phase of the conversion to Christianity. The rural settlements that grew around the missions have retained their vernacular character and were justified for inscription by UNESCO.

No matter where you go, all of Mexico’s colonial cities offer their distinct architectural styles, cuisines, artisanal crafts and hidden gems.

Mexico’s culinary traditions may be the richest, most varied and most delicious in the world—and you won’t believe the taste discoveries you make in every corner of the nation. It’s no surprise UNESCO designated Mexican cuisine as part of the World’s Intangible Heritage.

As you may have noticed, I am very proud of my wonderful country!
